Your Montblanc timepiece is a precision instrument. Proper care and regular servicing help maintain its performance and longevity.
Regular Maintenance
Montblanc recommends a maintenance service approximately every three years and a complete service approximately every five years. Service needs may vary by movement and use.
Water Resistance
Water resistance may diminish as gaskets age. Have it tested at least every three years — or annually if the watch is frequently exposed to water. Never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is submerged.
Mechanical Watches
If an automatic watch has not been worn for an extended period, it may need to be wound before the time and date are set.
Wind a manually wound watch regularly and do not force the crown when resistance is felt. Avoid changing the hour or date between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., when the date-change mechanism may be engaged.
Protection & Daily Care
Protect your watch from strong impacts, magnetic fields, chemicals and extreme conditions. Keep leather straps away from water and excess humidity. After exposure to salt or chlorinated water, rinse a water-resistant watch and metal bracelet with fresh water and dry them with a soft cloth.
